  • How can architecture and urban planning respond to Barcelona's major challenges?

In this meeting, we will reflect on the present and future of Barcelona from the perspective of architecture, urban planning, and landscape design. The city, recognized as World Capital of Architecture 2026 Recognized by UNESCO-UIA, it is a European benchmark in urban innovation, transformation of public spaces and architectural quality, but it also faces important challenges related to sustainability, housing, mobility and adaptation to climate change.

Barcelona is at a crucial juncture for rethinking its urban model. Strategic projects such as the Citadel of Knowledge, the La Rambla renovation, the urban innovation initiatives promoted from BIT Habitat or decarbonized rehabilitation programs open up new opportunities for the sector and create an attractive ecosystem for European companies, professionals and investors.

Led by representatives from European institutions and architecture and engineering firms with a presence in Barcelona, the event will present success stories and good practices which exemplify how collaboration between the public and private sectors can generate a positive impact and long-term value for the city.

The session will end with a space of networking and a drinkdesigned to facilitate contact between speakers and attendees, as well as to offer the opportunity to exchange views with representatives of European chambers of commerce and learn about their services and business networks.
