Meet the community behind Madrid For Refugees in a special place.

Join us for a morning of churros, chocolate, conversation, and connection at Socialty Coffee — a social enterprise in the heart of Madrid where the entire team is made up of refugees.

This informal gathering is an opportunity to meet the MFR team, connect with like-minded individuals, and learn about our work supporting refugees and migrants in Madrid. Whether you work in the social sector, are new to Madrid, or are simply curious—you are welcome.

The session will be facilitated by Christina Samson, founder of Madrid For Refugees, and Meredith MooreMFR's director of donations and community partnerships, and will be attended by Marcos Gilligan, founder of Socialty Coffee. Together they will share their experiences before opening the space to networking and free conversation.

Socialty Coffee It's a non-profit social enterprise founded by Marcos Gilligan with a simple yet powerful mission: to create real employment opportunities for refugees. At their welcoming location at C/ Castelló 5, the entire team is made up of refugees trained as baristas—offering not just employment, but dignity and a path to rebuilding their lives. Since opening three years ago, they have trained and employed over 15 refugees. By choosing to meet here, you're already making a difference. ☕🍫

🎟 Your €12 ticket includes: 🍫 A pack of churros with fine Belgian chocolate — made with organic Kamut flour, with your choice of dip (pistachio, hazelnut, dulce de leche, peanut butter, white chocolate and more), plus Churrinches as a special addition — a kind of twisted croissant in the shape of a stick, brought back exclusively for this occasion ✨ A contribution to both Madrid For Refugees and Socialty Coffee. Additional drinks available for purchase at the café.
