We are pleased to announce that The British School of Barcelona will host the inaugural edition of Education Festival Spain on our campus BSB Castelldefels in June 2026, marking the Festival's debut in continental Europe. This is not only a milestone for BSB, but for the entire educational community in Spain and Europe.
The Education Festival is a globally respected event that celebrates the best in educational thinking, innovation, and professional growth, and we are proud to bring this extraordinary experience to our region for the first time.
- A festival of learning, inspiration and connection
Inspired by the successful UK model and other international editions, the Spain Education Festival will offer a dynamic program of keynote speeches, debates and workshops, all in a festival atmosphere designed to spark curiosity, creativity and collaboration.
The content will be available in English, Spanish and Catalan, welcoming teachers, school leaders, education policymakers, innovators and support staff from diverse backgrounds and contexts.
According to Shane Mann, Executive Director of EducationScape and co-director of the Festival: “It’s an opportunity to celebrate the work of educators and connect with international ideas and practices. The Festival has always aimed to bring professionals together to share, reflect, and grow, and now we are proud to extend that spirit across Europe.”
- Program highlights
The festival will offer a rich and varied program, with more than fifty sessions throughout the day on topics such as inclusion, wellbeing, AI, coaching, orality, sustainability and the science of learning.
Among the featured guests is Francesca Martinez, comedian, writer, and inclusion advocate. Since winning the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award in Edinburgh, she has built a career that includes bestselling books, acclaimed theater productions, and collaborations with major television networks and global organizations.
Another prominent speaker is Owen O'Kane, bestselling author and leading psychotherapist, known for the BBC series Change Your Mind, Change Your LifeShe brings over 25 years of experience in mental and physical health. Her career includes palliative care and her role as NHS Clinical Lead for West London Mental Health.

Our BSB Castelldefels campus, a modern learning environment located just outside Barcelona, provides the ideal setting for this historic event with its excellent facilities, coastal location and welcoming community atmosphere.
