Barcelona. The Chamber wanted to award the work of certain institutions in recognition of their unconditional support by marking it with a ceremony. Barcelona, 12th November 2008 – In a ceremony celebrated this afternoon in Caixaforum, His Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Asturias, have presided over the celebration of the British Chamber of Commerce in commemoration of the centenary of the foundation of this institution in our country. Through the ceremony, that likewise has counted on the participation of the British Ambassador to Spain, Ms. Denise Holt, the chamber has wanted to show its appreciation to those people, entities and companies that throughout a century have showed their support to this Institution promoting commercial relations between the UK and Spain as a way of understanding and dialogue between the two nations. In this sense, the President of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, Ms. Karen Stock, has said that “without the selflessness of people such as the members of the Witty family, who have been in Barcelona for 150 years, as well as other unique entities and companies”, the Chamber’s project today wouldn’t be feasible. Next, after a speech in which the British Ambassador to Spain, Ms. Denise Holt, had stressed the importance of Spanish investment in her country, which in 2006 came to 32 thousand million euros, Karen Stock has awarded to the following people and entities an honorary prize for their:
