More than one hundred members and friends of the Chamber attended the presentation of the ‘Canadian Company of the Year Award’. The President of Repsol, Antonio Brufau, was awarded the prize, in the presence of the Ambassador of Canada in Spain, Graham Schantz, the President of the Chamber, Alberto Echarrei.

The Council of British Chambers in Europe has teamed up with Economist Conferences to give British Chamber members a 15% discount for their high profile conferences. The first event will discuss "Does the Euro have a future?" and is hosted by the ESMT European School of Technology and Management in Berlin.
The conference will debate the tough questions facing the euro zone and will be chaired by John O´Sullivan, The Economist´s European economics correspondent. It boasts an unrivalled agenda featuring senior policymakers, leading executives and economists and the speaker line-up includes the Greek and Portugese finance ministers as well as Mr. Olli Rehn, European Comissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs and Angel Gurría, Secretary General at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

INVEST IN SPAIN Agency negotiates as an Intermediate Organization from the Fund Intermediate Technology R & D + i.
In this regard, we would like to inform you that until September 30th, you can apply to the convocation of 1/2010 for support for investment projects and pilot plants of Invest in Spain.
The convocation will finance R & D activities of those foreign invested enterprises seeking to establish itself in Spain or who, being already in place, seeking to initiate new activities in this field.
Refundable grants are limited to € 200,000 per beneficiary, being able to support investments that are made anywhere in the country.

LINKS Magazine is a 6-monthly magazine featuring news about COBCOE (Council of British Chambers of Commerce in Europe) and its member chambers. The British Chamber of Commerce in Spain is pleased to report to its members Charlotte Fraser-Prynne, National Director of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain's speech on Housing in the United Kingdom, which was warmly received at the Congreso de los Diputados on the 16th March 2010 in Madrid.
The speech focused on three main topics; the Housing Market, Social Housing and the Role of the Private Sector in providing social housing in the UK.

The British Chamber of Commerce in Spain is delighted to announce the Elections for the Governing Council 2010-2012 which will be held at the Annual General Meeting in Barcelona on the 29th April 2010.
The role of the Governing Council is to provide a resource, representative of the majority of Chamber members, that will guide and implement the strategy of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain over the next two years. In compliance with our statutes, it will be the members of the Governing Council who will themselves elect the future President and Vice-President of the Chamber.
All members are entitled to apply as a candidate for the Governing Council 2010 - 2012.
