When you read the word Shôko, you might wonder about its meaning. Unless you are knowledgeable about Asian culture you probably won't know it was an ancient Asian Emperor's gong. But it's also the name of a new beach-front Restaurant and Lounge Club in Barcelona.

Below the famous Hotel Arts, based on the Feng-Shui conception of space, Shôko boasts a 700m2 interior space and 250m2 terrace,

From the moment you enter, you are automatically transported to another state of mind. The interior mixes red, black and gold tones clarifying “the five elements” of wood, fire, metal, water and earth. There are two VIP areas separated by a dance floor and a bamboo space. Combined with exquisite lighting, this energizing atmosphere contributes to the customer’s enjoyment, providing private chill-out and lounge areas, where you can site back and watch manga cartoons and old Japanese movies.

Their aim and focus is to stretch horizons in restaurant/lounge club services and priority is given to comfort and design incorporating the latest technological and audio visual innovations to guarantee successful corporate and private exclusive events. In-house performers also contribute to an interesting atmosphere that you can enjoy, both at weekends during dinner or exclusively for cocktails and large group events. Shôko offers a capacity up to 200 people seated for dinner. 800 for buffets and cocktails and up 2,000 for club.

Culinary speaking, Shôko reinterprets traditional Asian cooking, experimenting with new tendencies to produce an exciting mixture of dishes from all over the South East. Whilst not neglecting neither Mediterranean traditional nor modern fusion cuisine (depending on group size). Open 365 days of the year all day every day. Serving lunch from 12.30 until 16.00 and dinner from 20.30 until 24.00.

At 24.00 hours from Thursday till Sunday you will hear the sound of the Shôko, changing the tempo from dinner time to party time! The lights go down and before you know it you’re uplifted into Shintoist sounds mixed with groovy house and the best in electro beats.
