AGE CONCERN ACCIÓN SOCIAL Y ASISTENCIAL

ACASA was conceived in 2009 as a partnership project with The British Embassy, Age UK and SSAFA Forces Help to support the English speaking population in Spain.

Our aim is simple: to overcome poverty, combat isolation and assist with integration into Spanish life. We do this in three ways:

- Working directly with individuals in distress via our 70+ trained volunteers throughout Spain: providing practical help and advice on living in Spain or returning to the UK; helping our clients to access benefits and support; and sourcing charitable grants for them.

- Partnership work with corresponding Spanish NGOs to encourage integration, share best practice and ensure equal rights for all.

- Public campaigns to educate and enable individuals to live a full life and plan for their future.

We have two client bases – people over the age of 50, and those of any age who serve or used to serve in the British Armed Forces and their families. We are an English speaking organisation but our services are open to anyone over the age of 50 here in Spain. It is estimated that at least 1 million English speaking nationals are living in Spain of which ~50% are entitled to ACASA’s services.
